Arf Arf Attributes

I have been working very hard on my most recent therapy activity for receptive language skills. 
It is called Arf Arf Attributes! I hope you all enjoy!

Arf Arf Attributes is a receptive language focus game inspired by my patients that have difficulty processing the identification of objects with various attributes included. I believe that if a patient is lacking this foundation they will later have difficulty following multistep directions or complex 1-step directions due to not having the skill to attend to find details/attributes.

Arf Arf Attributes will be available in 4 levels and Level 1 is available to you tonight!

 Level 1 provides the foundation to the entire Arf Arf Attributes packet.



Level 1 - Teaching
Animals - 10 Farm Animals
Color/Design - 8 Colors & 2 Designs
Location/Stance/Position - 11 Positions/Stances
Quantitative - 7 Quantitative Concepts

Level 1 has two options available.

My Favorite Treatment App!

 Do you ever find one of those treatment apps that you are so excited to utilize in therapy? I found this treatment app about one year ago and it is hands down the best treatment app that I have ever used! Best part…it’s free! TxTools is an app from PediaStaff. As you can see it has a 5 star rating! I use this app in most of my treatment sessions. It is so versatile and saves me ample time! This app has 5 major functions: a counter, percentage calculator, timer, age calculator, and IEP tracker.         This app allows for me to take data in real time without having to worry about calculating later on in the day. I am able to complete my daily notes usually by the end of each treatment session. I do not work in the schools so I do not use the IEP tracker. The only change I wish was available on this app would be the ability to track multiple goals at once via the counter or the percentage. ...

Home Programs

One of my 2013 New Year Resolutions is to make a home program for each of my patient's that I see at my Outpatient Rehabilitation location. I thought it may be nice to share what I do! Here is an example of an at home programs for one of my itty-bitty kids. I usually make two folders one of the parent and one for the child. Now at this age (1-3) the child doesn't typically utilize the folder but the child folder is more activity based and the parent folder contains more education. I bought these folders at Walmart for 10 cents each, not a bad deal. Then on the front I just write Parent Guide or the child's name. Next in the Parent Guide I try my best to divide out various articles that I feel will be best for that particular parent to read for their child.
